You want to Install a Chandelier?
We receive calls everyday from people asking us, to provide them a price for Installing a Chandelier in their home. It’s not a simple question or even a strait forward answer, it is nearly impossible to just give someone a price for doing the Installation! It actually comes down to several factors and requirements that one needs to consider. First of all, the first thing that one needs to consider is the location, is it going into a room such as a Dining Room, Kitchen, Family Room, Bedroom, or your Main Entrance, Staircase, etc. These questions are just the tip of the iceberg as they all play an important roll, when considering to obtain a price to have a Chandelier Installed. Another important factor is the size, such as the overall length and diameter as this will impact the price and Installation process. Some Chandeliers may appear to be a simple Install but that is far from the truth, as some have tiny strings (wire) which they are being suspended from with a tiny hook at the top of the Chandelier’s Plate. Some have a lot of Crystal which takes a long time to hang each Crystal including having to follow a meticulous hanging process for the Crystals. The other and most important thing that one needs to take into account is the weight of the Chandelier as this is a crucial and very critical aspect that needs to be looked at and determined before any Installation takes place.
Weight and Size of the Chandelier
If the Chandelier that you want to Install is above 25lbs. or 11.3Kg than you will need to have some kind of support installed otherwise the Chandelier will fall down. This can lead to someone getting hurt or even death, not taking into account the fact of the damage and mess that you will find if it does fall down. The Ceiling Box is only designed to hold a maximum of 25lbs. or 11.3Kg. The Ceiling Box is not designed to hold anything above that weight and the potential risk of the Chandelier falling down are very high and of great concern. The Safety of your yourself, family, friends and visitors should be your first step in ensuring a good Installation and worry free enjoyment of that New Chandelier.
Height and Location of the Chandelier
The height and location of the Chandelier will make a great impact on the final price and cost of the installation. The higher the Ceiling, the Larger and the heavier the Chandelier is the greater the price will be. One must keep in mind that the height makes a big difference for these types of installations, since there is more work involved to installing a chandelier that is located higher up.Plus the fact that it is harder and more difficult to work at 16′ or 20′ of height in retrospect to Installing a Chandelier at 8′ of ceiling height.
Installing a Chandelier in a high Ceiling such as a Staircase, Large Entrance Way, a Family Room or Great Room which is open to above requires us to bring in large equipment or at best a large ladder which does not bend or fold and must be brought-in, in a direct and straight way without any bends or curves. These types of Installation are complex and meticulous which require planning and time to get it right. Keeping in mind that we want to avoid any cause of damage or even someone getting hurt or injured.
